to everyone who attended the National 4x4 Response Weekend and AGM. Everyone I spoke to had a great time. Responder numbers attending the AGM were pretty similar to last year but numbers staying for the weekend or even just one night were much higher and a good number of people had brought the whole family. All the children seemed to get on well together and to thoroughly enjoy themselves, saturday evenings rounders game and welly wanging being the highlight I think.
Lastly I would like to give a big thanks to Richard Wilcox who provided the recovery service for those who got particularly stuck and also guided us all around the venue so we didn't miss the good bits or do any damage on the really hard bits - I think without his presence one or two of the more "enthusiastic" drivers might still be stuck there.
Thanks once again to all.

» 4X4 Response National Weekend 9/10/11 July 2010 |

Yorkshire & Lincolnshire 4x4 Response are proud to announce the 4x4 Response National Weekend for 2010.
This inaugural event is being held at Frickley 4x4 Offroad Centre weekend of the 10th & 11th July. Situated between the M1, A1 and M18 in South Yorkshire the site is in easy reach of the motorway network and we'll be signing the route in and providing a radio "talk in" service on both CB and HAM for thse that want it
More details will be announced in due course but get the date in your diary now.
We're putting on a fun but constructive weekend for all, as well as the offroad site there will be stuff for the kids and seminars arranged so that opposite numbers from different groups can discuss their particular field. We also hope to get a couple of local equipment suppliers along to display their wares but also talk about how to get the best from the equipment (things like lights and CB/HAM radio etc).
The site is suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes, there is a limited number of electric hook ups so these will have to be shared where possible, we'll try to allocate them on a group basis, depending how many come. I will look into other accommodation nearby incase some people don't wish to camp, if we can arrange for everyone who does take this option up to stay in a similar area we'll try to put on a pickup/drop off service for the evenings so everyone (bar the driver) can join in the evenings fun.
In following years the event will move around the country being hosted by different groups each year. With this relatively central location we hope to attract visitors from all teams, to ease traveling we have arranged that we can stay over till Monday and travel back at our leisure instead of being torn between leaving early or arriving back home late etc.
